There are a lot of places where you may experience the magnificence of Mt. Fuji. Lake Kawaguchiko for one already has more than a dozen of them. If this is your first time in Japan, please, spare a day just for Mt. Fuji. If you are wondering how to get there and maybe get an idea of how much it will cost, click this link.
This certain place that we visited this time was not in our itinerary the last time we were near Mt. Fuji. It was actually quite "bitin" the last time we were here. The sun was setting and there was not enough light to take a good picture and we were arguing about something I could not even remember. So basically, it was kind of a missed opportunity, but not this time. This time we had more time for ourselves to appreciate the place and explore more.
Since I did a bit of research, I found this really really nice place where you can just stare at Mt. Fuji all afternoon while standing hundreds of meters above sea level. The place is called the Chureito Pagoda. It may sound new to you but it's actually in almost all print ads in Japan.
